Daily Fantasy Baseball: Positive Batted-Ball Regression Candidates for Week 2
Despite middling results, Tommy Pham has been making hard contact more often than anyone in the American League. Which other hitters are primed to correct course in Week 2?

Yonder Alonso, 1B, Chicago White Sox

Veteran slugger Yonder Alonso hasn't exactly endeared himself to his new squad in the early goings of 2019. The 32-year-old's tenure with the Chicago White Sox is indeed off too a whimpering start, with Alonso limping to a .160 average and .280 slugging percentage across 34 plate appearances.

That 26.5% walk rate should tell us that Alonso is still seeing the ball well, as should his 45% hard-contact clip when he does take the bat off of his shoulder. In fact, Statcast pegs Alonso for a .535 expected slugging percentage (xSLG), nearly double his actual mark.

Perhaps some cards will fall Alonso's way in Week 2, when he lines up to swing away in the hitter's haven of Guaranteed Rate Field before a weekend trip to the bandbox at Yankee Stadium. FanDuel players shouldn't have to spend more than $3,000 to see if Alonso can turn things around.
