Daily Fantasy Baseball: Positive Batted-Ball Regression Candidates for Week 3
Josh Donaldson's batted-ball profile says he's locked in despite his mediocre results. Which other hitters should be ready to bust out in DFS in Week 3?

Jesse Winker, OF, Cincinnati Reds

The once-crowded Jesse Winker bandwagon has gotten a bit lighter in the early days of 2019, with the would-be breakout taking center stage in a miserable offensive start to 2019 for the Cincinnati Reds.

The third-year lefty slugger has limped to a miserable .190 batting average through 47 plate appearances, but that comes on the back of an insanely low .143 BABIP, which simply doesn't jive with Winker's strong 28.1% line-drive rate and 43.8% hard-hit clip. Indeed, Statcast pegs Winker for a .508 expected slugging percentage (xSLG) based on his quality of contact, a meaningful improvement on his actual mark of .476.

Things don't figure to get a heck of a lot easier for Winker as the Reds draw some tough Dodgers and Padres arms in Week 3, but with Winker's price nose-diving to the low-$2,000's on FanDuel, he makes for an interesting dart through against righties like Kenta Maeda, Walker Buehler, and Chris Stratton.
