3 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on 4/16/19
Juan Soto has cooled down some in 2019. Is a plus matchup with Dereck Rodriguez enough to make him a top play on Tuesday's 15-game slate?

Juan Soto, OF, Washington Nationals

Price: $3,900

In addition to putting Strasburg in a good spot, the Giants put the Nationals' offense in a good spot tonight by starting righty Dereck Rodriguez on the mound.

Rodriguez has a middling 4.12 SIERA through three starts this season, bringing his career-average to 4.52 through 24 games. He's allowing a 43.6% hard-hit rate with only a 7.3% soft-hit rate to start the year, and while that's a small sample, his career-averages are still really enticing for opposing hitters, with a 40.0% hard-hit rate, 12.0% soft-hit rate and 37.0% fly-ball rate.

After bursting on the scene with a .392 wOBA and .225 ISO as a rookie in 2018, Juan Soto has cooled off some to start 2019, but he's still sporting a .388 wOBA and .221 ISO in his young major league career.

He's been especially good against right-handed pitching, with a .398 wOBA on a 35.4% hard-hit rate, giving him an even better chance of taking advantage of his matchup with Rodriguez.
