5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 4/23/19
Travis Shaw is having a rough start to 2019. Can he right the ship with the platoon advantage on Tuesday?

Yan Gomes, C, Washington Nationals

Price: $3,000

Yan Gomes is likely to be one of the only inexpensive ways to get exposure to the Washington Nationals' lineup tonight, and that warrants a closer look.

The Nats' 5.30 implied total is a slate-high as they continue their Coors Field series against the Colorado Rockies and righty Jeff Hoffman. Hoffman hasn't pitched in the majors yet this season, but his six games in 2018 saw him post a brutal 5.85 SIERA, bringing his major league average to 5.06 over 37 games.

Gomes is another guy who doesn't necessarily need the platoon advantage to be a threat, and he rocked right-handed pitchers for a 42.3% hard-hit rate and 41.8% fly-ball rate over 311 plate appearances last season. That's the fourth time in the last five years he had a fly-ball rate north of 40% against righties, and that kind of contact is exactly what can bring big upside in the thin air at Coors Field.
