Daily Fantasy Baseball: Positive Batted-Ball Regression Candidates for Week 5
Nelson Cruz's home run output has been streaky, but his advanced stats point to consistently massive power. What other hitters are poised for bigger and better things in Week 5?

Gary Sanchez, C, New York Yankees

With a miserable 2018 campaign still fresh in our minds, it's hard to treat Gary Sanchez with anything other than kid gloves, especially given that the New York Yankees injury-ravaged lineup doesn't carry the sort of gravitas that it had on Opening Day.

It doesn't help that Sanchez's prolific power thus far (.679 slugging over 63 plate appearances) has been somewhat undercut by another poor early showing in terms of batting average (.232) and plate discipline (14.8% swinging strikes, 37.4% reach rate).

But Sanchez's contact metrics anticipate a return to his mammoth 2017 form, with the Bombers' backstop crushing 52.5% hard contact while posting a sharp .311 xBA and a massive .876 xSLG. His staggering 33.3% barrel rate is tops in the majors.

Considering Sanchez's salary is trending in the high $3,000s on FanDuel, now might be the time to buy back in while the going is relatively cheap--and with two homers and seven RBI over the weekend, he might not be this cheap for very long.
