It's nice that Franmil Reyes wasn't playing in the afternoon yesterday because the timing of salaries being released for today's slate was such that his two home runs from last night didn't get priced in, so his salary has remained stagnant.
Of course, it's not just one big game that makes his bat an appealing one. After opening his major league career with a .360 wOBA and .218 ISO in 2018, he's got a .346 wOBA and .329 ISO in 2019.
Over those 376 career plate appearances, that gives him a .356 wOBA and .245 ISO on a massive 47.8% hard-hit rate.
Those are some gaudy numbers for a guy priced only $400 above the minimum, and they make him a steal tonight with the platoon advantage against Atlanta Braves southpaw Max Fried, despite Fried's solid start to 2019.
