In three spot-starts for the injured Matt Cain, Chris Heston has thrown three quality starts. He gets his first road start of 2015 against the Colorado Rockies, a team that he held to one earned run over 7.2 innings pitched while scattering 7 hits and walking 2 in a 2-0 loss. The Rockies are a top-10 team against right-handed pitchers in home runs, batting average and slugging, but couldn't muster more than one extra-base hit -- a double -- against Heston earlier this year. Heston’s 0.87 earned run average, 0.97 WHIP and 61.5% ground-ball rate are all career highs -- and probably unsustainable -- but until there a team figures out how to get the ball in the air against the 27-year old, you have to ride the wave.
