Fantasy Baseball Streaming Pitchers: Dan Haren Makes Another Appearance
For the fourth time this year, Dan Haren is among the best starting pitcher streaming options for the week.

David Phelps, Miami Marlins

Yahoo Ownership: 2%
ESPN Ownership: 2%

David Phelps gets two starts this week. The first is against a Washington Nationals team that has been struggling to hit at home, and the second is against the aforementioned Giants. Since we know about the Giants’ struggles and why they benefit Phelps, let’s focus on why the Nats present themselves as a viable streaming opponent.

Washington has struck out an average of 7.25 times per home game and have scored 33 runs, well below the MLB average of 49. The Nationals scored at a much higher rate in 2014, but have yet to figure out how to score without hitting the long ball in 2015. After averaging 0.77 home runs and 4.47 runs per game at home in 2014, the Nationals have hit 0.80 home runs and scored 3.3 runs per game at Nationals Park. Living and dying with the long ball is no way to get a slumping offense back on track, especially against a pitcher like Phelps, who has yet to give up a home run this season.
