Chris Tillman has had an amazing run in which he went nearly two months in between poor starts. There's a very good chance that he gets back on track with two home starts this week against the Athletics and Twins.
The A’s were an okay offense away from O.Co to start the season, but have since slipped across the board, averaging a slash line of .247/308./.383 entering this week. The lack of consistent offense is witnessed by a mediocre 37.4 at-bats per home run. Oakland has lost 9 of their last 10 road games, including an 18-2 drubbing Sunday night.
The Twins have regressed to the .500 mark, which is still above where many thought they’d be in mid-August. Minnesota is one of the worst road offenses in baseball, including the worst batting average, on base percentage (OBP) and on base plus slugging (OPS). Only the Mets’ .348 slugging percentage is worse than the Twins’ .357.
