The turmoil surrounding Matt Harvey’s innings limit gives Logan Verrett the spot start Monday against the Miami Marlins in Queens. This will be Verrett’s second start of the season. He earned his only win of the 2015 season in a 5-1 win over the Rockies in Colorado. Verrett went eight innings and allowed one run on four hits.
The Marlins have averaged 3.7 runs per road game this season, making them one of the lowest scoring offenses away from the friendly confines. Miami is not a team that will strike out a lot, but they do not walk much either, taking 151 free passes away from home. Their 1.15 groundball-to-fly ball ratio (G/F) is by far the highest in the Majors, and their inability to hit home runs -- 41.1 at-bats per home run -- is fifth worst overall.
