FanDuel Price: $11,000
Felix Hernandez hasn’t exactly been the ace we’ve known this year, but the situation and matchup is too good to pass up tonight.
In 2016, he’s posted the lowest strikeouts per nine inning (K/9) of his career at 7.42, mostly thanks to a much lower 8.6 swinging strike percentage. His xFIP has suffered, soaring to a career-high 4.10.
However, he’s limited damage on balls in play by forcing an elite 53.2 percent groundball rate, only allowing 0.79 home runs per nine innings.
Tonight, he’ll face the Minnesota Twins, who are in the bottom third of the league versus right-handed pitching in strikeout rate (23.3 percent) and wOBA (.303). He’s also pitching as a -220 favorite at home, where his xFIP (3.56) is a full run lower than it is on the road this season.
Many DFS players will roster the pitcher on the next page for $100 cheaper, making Hernandez an excellent candidate to be under-owned in tonight’s GPPs.
