Jedd Gyorko is having one of his best seasons from the plate, hitting .243/.317/.432 with a .325 wOBA and .189 ISO. He does his best work against left-handed pitchers, owning a career .336 wOBA and .175 ISO versus southpaws.

For minimum salary, he's really appealing for his matchup with Pittsburgh Pirates' left-hander Jonathon Niese, whose 4.39 SIERA on the season is on pace to be his second straight year above 4.25. Niese also has a 4.36 xFIP against right-handed hitters, allowing a .362 wOBA.

Gyorko's not the most exciting hitter on the slate, but when you account for how cheap he is, he offers great value in this matchup.
