FanDuel Price: $3,000
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Third base has several appealing options today, which should leave Maikel Franco very low-owned. At the top end, Josh Donaldson and Todd Frazier both find themselves in appealing matchups as Toronto and Chicago have the two highest implied team totals. At Franco's price, Jake Lamb may be a more popular value play in a good matchup with a high implied team total.
Why You Should Use Him:
Franco's season has been somewhat of a disappointment thus far, but the young third baseman has flashed big-time upside on occasion. He's collected two hits in back-to-back games, including last night's 2-for-4 game in which he launched his 11th homer of the season.
Franco will look to build on his recent success in tonight's matchup against R.A. Dickey. Dickey's 4.79 SIERA (12th-highest in the league) is right in line with last season's 4.76 mark and makes him an easy target each time he takes the mound.
Franco has actually posted reverse splits thus far through his career, hitting right-handed pitching better than left. He has a decent chance to continue that trend while hitting third against the knuckle-baller tonight. Don't roster him in cash formats, but give him a look in tournaments.
