FanDuel Price: $4,000
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
There are several outfielders worth targeting in the Coors game alone. Outside of Coors, Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez, Stephen Piscotty, and Robbie Grossman will all probably draw some ownership away from Ian Desmond as well.
Why You Should Use Him:
Desmond continues to impress in his turnaround season and now has his average up to 12.6 FanDuel points per game. He'll look to build on that number in tonight's matchup with lefty Eric Surkamp.
Surkamp has a 6.41 ERA this season that is right in line with his career 6.45 mark and his 6.84 xFIP this season. At this point in his career, Surkamp clearly isn't a Major League-caliber pitcher.
Desmond has hit lefties better in his career, posting improved numbers across the board, and should have no problem with Surkamp. The Rangers are projected for 4.2 runs, but that seems a bit modest considering how Surkamp has pitched. If Texas' high-powered offense is going to exceed their implied total, Desmond will likely be a big part of doing so.
