5 Daily Fantasy Baseball Studs for 6/15/16
Nelson Cruz is going up against Drew Smyly, who has had issues with the long ball. What other high-priced studs should you target tonight?

Noah Syndergaard, SP, New York Mets

FanDuel Price: $10,400

Noah Syndergaard has been dominant this season; his 2.00 ERA in 76 innings is extremely impressive, and his 2.20 xFIP indicates that it’s no fluke.

He also has had major strikeout upside this year, evidenced by his three starts of 10-plus punchouts and three more starts with nine strikeouts. He’s posted 11.15 strikeouts per nine with an elite 14.6 swinging-strike percentage. When opposing batters aren’t striking out, they have a tough time putting the ball in the air as Syndergaard has stifled them with a 53.4 percent ground-ball rate.

Tonight, he’ll face the Pittsburgh Pirates, who have had trouble hitting for power against right-handed pitching this season. With a .139 team isolated slugging split, they rank 23rd in the league.

Syndergaard has higher upside than Chris Sale, but he may also be higher-owned in tournaments with his $600 salary discount. This makes for an interesting decision when constructing tournament rosters, but both are priced as highly as they are for a reason.
