FanDuel Price: $2,000
With a minimum-level price tag, Steven Moya is an extremely cheap way to get access to the Tigers’ lineup for their matchup with Kansas City Royals’ righty Chris Young, who boasts a 4.37 SIERA and 8.9% walk rate.
Moya came into the year as one of Detroit’s top prospects. He owns a .314 wOBA in a small sample of 41 plate appearances at the big-league level this year, but he racked up an impressive .396 wOBA with 13 bombs in 215 plate appearances at Triple-A at the start of the season. He’s likely up for good with J.D. Martinez (elbow) sidelined.
A lefty, Moya owns a .304 wOBA against right-handed pitchers, compared to a lowly .176 wOBA versus southpaws. He has been playing against righties, hitting behind Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez, Nick Castellanos and Justin Upton. With those bats in front of him, Moya should have some ducks on the pond for his trips to the plate, and the Tigers have an implied total of 4.57 runs.
