FanDuel Price: $4,200
By now, we all know the strengths and weaknesses of Chris Davis. His immense power has continued this season -- he’s hit 16 home runs and he’s tormented right-handed pitching. Versus righties, he’s posted a .256 ISO, a .357 wOBA, and a 41.5 percent hard hit rate.
What has killed him, as always, is his overall 31.7 percent strikeout rate. We can’t get FanDuel points when he doesn’t put the ball in play.
But tonight, Davis has about as perfect of a matchup as possible against the Padres’ Erik Johnson.
Johnson has faced 272 left-handed batters in his MLB career, and the results aren’t pretty: 13 home runs, .271 ISO, .412 wOBA, and a 36.5 percent hard hit rate. But at the very least, he could strike out Davis once or twice, right?
Nope -- he’s struck out only 12.6 percent of the lefties he’s faced in his two MLB seasons.
With this matchup in Camden Yards, Davis is a top hitting option tonight.
