FanDuel Price: $3,800
As an early favorite for the National League Rookie of the Year award, Corey Seager has lived up to his grand expectations in 2016 by hitting 15 home runs before the end of June. And unlike fellow rookie shortstop Trevor Story -- who has more home runs (18) but is hitting just .264 with a 33.3 percent strikeout rate -- Seager has shown a complete skillset at the plate.
For DFS purposes, Seager has been awesome. With near-equal splits against both lefties and righties, he all but ensures nine innings of home run potential regardless of the matchup.
Versus righties specifically, he’s hit for a .221 ISO and .379 wOBA. Tonight, he’ll get righty Joe Ross, who has been much worse against left-handed hitters in his career:
Career splits | ISO | wOBA | K % | Fly Ball % | Hard Hit % |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
vs LHB | 0.155 | 0.346 | 17.1 | 37.4 | 37.3 |
vs RHB | 0.114 | 0.224 | 25.1 | 27.9 | 21.3 |
This is a great matchup for Seager, making him an elite shortstop option tonight.
