Russell Martin hasn't been producing great numbers from the plate this year, but he has managed some decent marks against left-handed pitching. His .164 isolated slugging against lefties is encouraging, and he has a ridiculous 57.1 percent hard-hit rate.
His matchup tonight with Carlos Rodon plays to his strengths well. Through his first two Major League seasons, Rodon has really struggled with right-handed hitting, allowing a .354 wOBA with a 4.30 xFIP. His numbers are even worse if you just look at this season, with that wOBA jumping to .360 and the xFIP to 4.47.
