Miguel Sano has been out since May 31st with a hamstring injury, but he has made it through eight rehab assignments and was activated off of the disabled list today. The Twins optioned Byung-Ho Park to Triple-A, and it looks like Sano will immediately return to the lineup.
Sano has been great from the dish through his first two seasons, owning a .373 wOBA, a .247 isolated slugging, a massive 43.0 percent hard-hit rate and a 12.1 percent soft-hit rate. His huge power comes with a huge strikeout total, and a 34.8 percent strikeout rate, but he's up against Martin Perez tonight, whose 10.1 percent strikeout rate against righties this season and 12.4 percent rate over his career make Sano a lot more appealing.
