5 Under-the-Radar Daily Fantasy Baseball Plays for 7/5/16
Brian Dozier has an excellent matchup tonight, but with so many other cheap second basemen also in good spots, he will likely go overlooked.

Corey Seager, SS, Los Angeles Dodgers

FanDuel Price: $4,000

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

The Dodgers have the 18th-highest implied team total against Chris Tillman today, so don't expect Corey Seager to be an overly popular option. I'd expect the cheaper Troy Tulowitzki to be the most sought after shortstop tonight, while Trevor Story will likely get some attention at just $2,000, even against Bumgarner.

Why You Should Use Him:

Seager continues to shine in his rookie season and appears to separating himself in the National League Rookie of the Year race. He's now hit safely in 17 straight games and as a result has his batting average above .300 to go along with 17 home runs.

He'll look to extend his hit streak in tonight's matchup with Tillman, who has really fallen off after an unprecedentedly good start to the season. Tillman has failed to make it out of the fifth inning in three straight games, during which he has an 8.59 ERA.

Tillman's main issue this season is that he hasn't been able to retire left-handed batters -- posting an unsightly 4.87 xFIP against them on the year. That bodes well for Seager, a lefty who has posted better numbers against righties in his career.

Given the low implied total for Los Angeles and some of the cheaper shortstop options, Seager isn't a must for cash games, but he is certainly viable if you can fit him in. With the expected low ownership, he makes for a very interesting tournament play.
