He's no world-beater, but lefty Chase Headley holds his own against right-handed pitching. On the year, he has a 33.2% hard-hit rate, .326 wOBA and .143 ISO against righties. If we expand our view to his whole career, that wOBA jumps to .334.

What makes him really appealing tonight, though, is his matchup with righty Miguel Gonzalez, because Gonzalez has been awful in his career.

For the fifth time in as many seasons, Gonzalez is sporting a SIERA above 4.40, sporting a career-worst 4.88 clip. He has a shaky 4.54 xFIP against left-handed hitters over his career, with an especially ugly 5.31 xFIP against lefties this season.

This is a really good spot for Headley.
