FanDuel Price: $2,900
Why He Will Go Overlooked:
Brian Dozier, Ben Zobrist and Rougned Odor all find themselves in excellent positions tonight, which should be enough to keep Jason Kipnis low-owned.
Why You Should Use Him:
After a slow start to the season, Kipnis has picked up his play and is now averaging 10.5 FanDuel points -- the ninth-most among second baseman on today's slate. Despite this, he's priced as the 13th-most expensive second baseman, even in a lefty-righty matchup against Ivan Nova.
Nova has a 5.06 ERA on the year, which is almost identical to last season's 5.07 mark and is in line with his career 4.41 mark. In his career, he has struggled with lefties, posting a 4.22 xFIP against them, up from his 3.92 xFIP against righties.
Kipnis has posted some pretty extreme splits against righties in his career, improving his ISO by 59 points, slugging percentage by 94 points, wOBA by 58 points, and hard-hit rate by six percent.
With the Indians projected for 4.6 runs against Nova, Kipnis is in a great spot for production and comes at a nice discount. He's a viable play in any format tonight.
