5 Buy-Low Options for Season-Long Fantasy Baseball Leagues
David Price's 4.64 ERA hides the fact that he's having one of the best seasons of his career. What other players can you get for a discount to help your team over the second half of the season?

David Price, SP, Boston Red Sox

David Price is the poster boy for this article.

Price's traditional numbers -- namely his career-worst 4.64 ERA -- paint the picture of a guy having bad year, when in fact, Price is having one of the best seasons of his outstanding career.

I don't know what Price did to deserve all the bad luck he's gotten this season, but it's out of control.

His .325 BABIP, 15.5% home-run-to-fly-ball ratio (HR/FB), and 69.3% strand rate are all significantly worse than his career averages, with the BABIP and HR/FB being career-worst marks.

All of those numbers will likely stabilize over time, and when they do, look out because Price is dealing some filthy stuff, which the Seattle Mariners found out first hand in late June.

Price's numbers read like an ace. His 26.6% strikeout rate ranks 11th among qualified pitchers, while his 5.3% walk rate checks in 21st and his 12.6% swinging-strike rate -- which is a career high -- is good enough for 7th.

Despite what the ugly ERA says, Price is going to be fine -- because he is fine. If he's being valued as anything other than the stud he is, now is the time to pounce.
