Even with Dee Gordon back from suspension, Derek Dietrich has been drawing starts against right-handed pitchers, and for good reason.

Dietrich has been solid against righties this year, slashing .283/.377/.406 with a .345 wOBA, and he has a fairly good matchup today against Carlos Martinez.

Despite owning a 2.87 ERA, which looks impressive on the surface, Martinez hasn't actually been overly impressive on the year, posting a career-high 4.02 SIERA with a 20.2% strikeout rate, his lowest since his rookie year in 2013.

Martinez has especially struggled against left-handed hitters this year, pitching to a 4.42 xFIP against them. With a price tag so close to the minimum, Dietrich offers great value.
