4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 9/7/16
The Texas Rangers may not be at home tonight, but their matchup allows them to overcome that deficiency. Which other offenses should we target in MLB DFS?

Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.

Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks. With the split slates, we will focus exclusively on the games on the main slate beginning at 7 pm Eastern. And as always, we will not include today's game at Coors Field here. Coors is great for DFS, but you likely don't need me to tell you that. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Texas Rangers

It's hard to get super jazzed about the Texas Rangers as they take the park-factor hit in moving to Seattle from Arlington. Their prices are based on a team in a great offensive park, and they don't have that tonight. But with the issues Ariel Miranda has had, we absolutely need to give these guys a look.

Miranda -- both when he was with the Baltimore Orioles and now with the Seattle Mariners -- has been okay in the strikeout department at an 18.1% rate. His issues stem from walks and hard contact. His walk rate in the majors is 9.5%, and he has allowed a whopping 39.1% hard-hit rate. The Rangers have bats that can tattoo average lefties; what do you think they'll do against a guy with Miranda's struggles?

The one guy who isn't priced at an absurd level in this lineup is Delino DeShields Jr., who will likely hit leadoff. His batted-ball stats are a bit gruesome, but they are at least improving after his stint in the minors.

Time Frame Hard-Hit Rate Soft-Hit Rate Fly-Ball Rate
First Half 16.9% 28.6% 25.0%
Second Half 22.0% 12.2% 34.2%

It's still pretty ugly, but things are trending in the right direction, and he's in a great situation. That's enough for DeShields to warrant a look tonight if he does hit at the top.
