The Top Three Pitchers
Edinson Volquez – The last time Volquez faced the Diamondbacks, he pitched 6 2/3 innings and gave up just a run. His last outing wasn't spectacular, but we like his value in a lot of daily leagues tonight.
Shelby Miller – The rookie has faced the Brewers three times this season, and has an ERA of 1.47 against them. Though he's struggled in his last two times on the mound, we expect his Brewer bruising to continue tonight at home in St. Louis.
Ryan Vogelsong – We had Vogelsong's teammate, Tim Lincecum, in our lineups yesterday, and that turned out pretty well. Lincecum threw 8 innings of 2 run ball en route to a no decision. While Vogelsong hasn't lit up the stat sheet this year, we like him as a value play in daily tonight.
Top High-Priced Hitters
Andrew McCutchen – Let's celebrate the Pirates 82nd win with a couple of Buccos in our daily lineups, shall we? Though Martin Perez is on the mound in what looks to be a pitcher's duel in Pittsburgh, McCutchen is a beast in Interleague play. Moreover, Cutch is hitting .500 against the AL West this year. He could be the difference maker tonight.
David Ortiz – David Price will be on the mound for the Rays tonight, but has struggled as of late. Big Papi, on the other hand, has been on a tear, having three multi-hit games over his last five. We like him tonight at Tropicana.
Cost-Effective, Mid-Range Hitters
Pedro Alvarez – Told you we'd be celebrating the Pirates first winning season since 1992. Alvarez was in our lineups last night, and he got the lone RBI in the Pirates victory over the Rangers. Tonight, we like his cheap value again versus the Rangers.
Rajai Davis – We like his chances of getting a stolen base tonight more than any other player (no surprise), and, like Alvarez, his cost in most daily leagues is attractive for a low-end hitter.
