Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.
Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.
Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.
Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.
Now, let's get to the stacks. These offenses are exclusively on FanDuel's main slate, beginning at 1:05 pm Eastern and not including the three night games. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.
Los Angeles Dodgers
Whenever Clayton Kershaw is on the bump, the DFS world revolves around the Los Angeles Dodgers. But Kershaw's not what brings us here. Instead, it's his mound opponent, Jhoulys Chacin, and a San Diego Padres bullpen that could be a total dumpster fire.
Chacin gets the opening-day call for the Padres despite a 2016 that saw him shuffle between the rotation and relief duties. In 22 starts, Chacin had a 16.4% strikeout rate and a 8.6% walk rate and allowed a 33.0% hard-hit rate. Those numbers aren't abysmal by any means, but when facing a lineup that ranked second in wRC+ against righties last year at 109, it can get you in trouble in a hurry.
The Dodgers' lineup will be one of the keys to watch for today's slate. On Saturday, the team plugged lefty Andrew Toles into the leadoff spot while trotting out most of their regular lineup.
Tonight's lineup vs. Angels:
Toles LF
Seager SS
Turner 3B
González 1B
Forsythe 2B
Grandal DH
Pederson CF
Puig RF
Barnes C
(McCarthy P)

It's entirely possible that Toles winds up batting there again. He had a respectable hard-hit rate against righties last year at 32.4% over 102 plate appearances, looking even better when you consider he's the stone minimum at $2,000 on FanDuel. Logan Forsythe, Yasmani Grandal, and Joc Pederson are all potential values waiting to be had, allowing you to pair the Dodgers' offense with Kershaw if you so desire.
