Now, let's get to the stacks. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.
Cleveland Indians
When the end is nigh, it comes quickly, and man is it coming fast for Detroit Tigers starter Jordan Zimmermann, who's struggled through a really difficult 2017 campaign.
So far this season, Zimmerman's posted a 5.09 SIERA and has struck out only 16.3% of hitters while walking them 7.3% of the time. And the batted-ball profile doesn't get much prettier, as he's allowed a hard-hit rate of 38.9% and a fly-ball rate of 43.4%.
Enter the Cleveland Indians, who are enjoying a breakout campaign from Jose Ramirez. This year, the switch-hitter is mashing right-handed pitching, posting a 1.031 OPS and .302 ISO. Tasty.
While Ramirez is expensive at $4,200, there are plenty of affordable options for the Indians, including this masher who's been en fuego since an early-season injury.
Lonnie Chisenhall will set you back $3,400, and he's worth every penny. In the month of June, Chisenhall slammed his way to a 1.052 OPS, which fueled by a .373 average and .627 slugging percentage.
While Chisenhall's certainly a stud, we want to focus on additional left-handed hitters versus Zimmermann, who's allowed a 42.6% hard-hit rate and 45.3% fly-ball rate to them this year. Even though Jason Kipnis is only 2 for his last 23, his $2,700 price tag for a leadoff hitter at the top of such a potent lineup is hard to ignore.
Bradley Zimmer rounds out the stack as another nice $2,700 left-handed hitting option. He's struggled mightily against southpaws with a wRC+ of only 28, but he's been far better against righties (120 wRC+), posting a strong .182 ISO at home versus righties this season.
