As has been the case most of the week, we're lacking top-end pitchers on tonight's main slate with only one arm even reaching the $9,000 mark. That leaves us with some fairly simple decisions in that department, but there's still plenty of work to be done on the hitters' side between some intriguing high-priced bats. Note that crummy weather could play a factor across the board this Friday with the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants game in particular looking dicey to play.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel's main slate.
Pitchers to Target
Lance McCullers ($8,600 on FanDuel): In his opening start, Lance McCullers reminded all of us how electric he can be when he's healthy, mowing down the Texas Rangers for 10 strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings while allowing just 2 runs and 1 walk. Prior to his first stint on the disabled list in 2017, over 13 starts, McCullers torched the league with a 2.58 ERA, backed by a 28.6% strikeout rate, 7.4% walk rate, 63.0% ground-ball rate, and 25.8% hard-hit rate. Things slowly fell apart after that, but if that first start was any indication, it's this elite version of McCullers that we're getting to begin 2018. He's a huge home favorite against a San Diego Padres lineup without Wil Myers that is showing only a 3.24 implied team total. He's the top arm on the board.
