4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 4/11/18
Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.
Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.
Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.
Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.
Now, let's get to the stacks.
Miami Marlins
The Miami Marlins have gotten off to a rough start at 3-8, but Wednesday's tilt with the New York Mets and Zack Wheeler could get them back in the win column. At the very least, this looks to make for a pretty promising stacking opportunity.
In 86 1/3 innings in 2017, Wheeler was pretty rough, recording a 4.64 SIERA. Left-handed batters pounded Wheeler for a .497 slugging percentage, 2.13 home runs per nine innings pitched, 38.3% hard-hit rate and 37.7% fly-ball rate. That allows us to give the lefties a long look in building a Marlins stack.
Justin Bour ($2,200) tried his best to carry the Marlins to victory last night in ripping off a double-dong effort.

Mired in a slump to start the year, Bour has been blasting a lot of hard contact lately, and he should be overjoyed to see Wheeler. In 2017, Bour mashed righties for a .252 ISO, 42.3% hard-hit rate and 34.8% fly-ball rate.
Another lefty anchored at the top of the lineup is Derek Dietrich ($2,500), who makes for another solid choice with plenty of pop. A year ago, he ripped righties for a 34.5% hard-hit rate and 43.1% fly-ball rate.
Two righties certainly deserve some attention, and the first is Starlin Castro ($3,100). Castro's numbers against righties last year were mediocre with a .157 ISO and a 28.5% hard-hit rate, but he'll benefit from hitting in the middle of the order against a struggling pitcher.
Finally, third-sacker Brian Anderson ($3,000) is another affordable option with significant scoring upside. He is likely to bat fifth, meaning he would be the one to benefit should Castro, Bour and others get on base.
