Isn't it supposed to be spring? This cold April continues to be a drag around much of the country, and miserable weather deep-sixed quite a few games over the weekend. We've got 10 games on tap for tonight's main slate, but the Cardinals-Cubs game is already looking unlikely to play, so sadly it's another day to keep close tabs on the forecasts.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
Jacob deGrom ($9,400 on FanDuel): The punchouts aren't quite at the level of last year, but over three starts Jacob deGrom has a solid 3.26 SIERA, 24.7% strikeout rate, and 6.9% walk rate. Bryce Harper and the Washington Nationals aren't the most envious matchup, but he'll be at home opposite a weak pitcher in Jeremy Hellickson, giving him a good shot at the win. He performed fairly well in his first go-round with the Nats on the road, allowing 1 earned run over 6 innings with 5 strikeouts -- good for 40 FanDuel points. A high-ceiling game doesn't look likely tonight, but deGrom arguably has the safest floor among tonight's arms. James Paxton ($8,500) is worth considering in tournaments for his upside, but he is in an absolutely brutal spot against the Houston Astros.
