Well, hopefully we got most of that dreary weather out of our DFS systems yesterday. The forecasts still aren't perfect tonight, with some rain coming through in a few spots, but overall things are shaping up to be on the safer side. However, it's worth mentioning that it isn't particularly hot anywhere either, so between that and no Coors Field on the main slate, we may not see as much offense this evening. On the bright side, this should make it that much easier to pay up for tonight's most expensive pitcher.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitcher
Clayton Kershaw ($11,400 on FanDuel): In cash games, your pitching selection process begins and ends with Clayton Kershaw. No, he hasn't been flawless, and while he was a letdown in a hyped matchup against Max Scherzer, he's far and away the top arm on the board. Kershaw's reduced velocity does remain a concern, and the strikeouts are down from 2017, but we're still talking about a 2.78 SIERA, 26.9% strikeout rate, and 2.3% walk rate through five starts. He's also showing a 12.3% swinging-strike rate, and is limiting hard contact as usual (27.2%). And if you're still worried, he's facing the Miami Marlins, who have a slate-low 2.53 implied team total. Maybe you can diversify a little in tournaments, but otherwise your top choice is clear.
