With only four games on tap for Thursday night's main slate, we're a little short on quality pitching matchups, so you may want to concentrate your play toward tournaments. But on the bright side, the lack of elite arms means salaries are lower than usual, giving us plenty of extra cash to use on our bats. The highest implied team totals belong to the Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Yankees, but it's worth noting the Bronx Bombers don't necessarily have a shoo-in matchup against talented lefty Blake Snell.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
Domingo German ($7,000 on FanDuel): It says something when we're leading off things with a $7,000 pitcher, but that's the kind of slate we're dealing with tonight. Domingo German gets one of the evening's better matchups as he takes on the Tampa Bay Rays, who have posted only a .134 isolated power (ISO) against right-handed pitching and come in with a slate-low 3.77 implied team total. German is hardly safe with a 9.4% walk rate and some wildly inconsistent results, but he still holds some promising peripherals -- 3.71 SIERA, 26.1% strikeout rate, and 14.1% swinging-strike rate. Best of all, at this price, you'll be able to spend way up on your favorite sluggers. Also, don't rule out German's opponent, Blake Snell ($9,200), as a contrarian option. Snell may have a brutal matchup on the road against the Yankees, but they can be had for punchouts and he's by far the most talented pitcher on the board.
