Following a Tuesday night swimming in ace pitching, Wednesday is decidedly more shaky, with no hurler worth feeling completely comfortable deciding on. On the bright side, we have far more enticing offenses to dig through, including the Red Sox, Athletics, Rangers, and Twins. The Padres also continue to be a good source of value while getting a park factor boost at Globe Life Park.

High-Priced Pitchers
Madison Bumgarner ($9,800 on FanDuel): Paying this much for a guy showing just a 4.59 SIERA and 16.2% strikeout rate through four starts is a little nauseating, but Madison Bumgarner did show signs of his old self in his last game against the Padres, punching out eight batters over eight scoreless innings. Of course, one nice outing versus San Diego doesn't mean our man is back, but that's a leap of faith we might need to make on this slate. Getting the road-tripping Colorado Rockies in the confines of run-suppressing AT&T Park should help, though, as Colorado is only showing a 3.43 implied team total. Bumgarner posted a 3.36 SIERA and 27.5% strikeout rate in his last full healthy season (2016), which is the upside we're hoping for, but you can hardly be blamed for thinking that's a bridge too far at this price point.
