Thursday must have used up all the aces because tonight's slate gives us far less to work with on the pitching side. Wading through the arms won't be particularly fun, but on the bright side, that leaves us more from a hitting perspective, with the Colorado Rockies hosting the Seattle Mariners for another series at Coors Field, in addition to the Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros enjoying some good matchups.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitchers
Madison Bumgarner ($9,400 on FanDuel): The season numbers for Madison Bumgarner still don't stand out through seven starts, but over his last four outings, he's produced a promising 2.71 FIP and 25.0% strikeout, while showing a slight uptick in velocity over the last three. Bumgarner also isn't being restricted in terms of pitch count, already exceeding 100 four times. It's starting to look like we can trust him again, especially when he benefits from the run-suppressing environment of AT&T Park. The Oakland Athletics are a tough lineup, but they strike out 23.4% of the time to southpaws, and are only getting a 3.47 implied team total on the road. On a slate lacking elite options, Bumgarner might be our closest choice.
