Most of Wednesday's games are scheduled for the afternoon, leaving us with a tidy four-game main slate. But that doesn't mean a shortage of offense, though, with the Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers poised for another high-scoring affair at Globe Life Park. The Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Angels are also in play, and the Houston Astros and Colorado Rockies remain viable at Coors Field in spite of some tough matchups.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
Tyler Skaggs ($9,300 on FanDuel): With Charlie Morton and Jon Gray dueling at Coors Field, that leaves us with fairly limited options on the pitching side, but we should be able to count on Tyler Skaggs against the Chicago White Sox. The Pale Hose have managed to best the Angels the last two games, but they remain a lineup we like to attack with pitchers, holding a 25.9% strikeout rate versus southpaws. Skaggs is enjoying the best season of his career, showing a 3.67 SIERA, 24.8% strikeout rate, and 7.2% walk rate, with a noticeable jump in swinging-strike rate (11.2%). Chicago is getting a slate-low 3.51 implied team total, and Skaggs is an overwhelming favorite (-213) against James Shields.
