Friday's 15-game main slate is a tough one to crack, with a tantalizing group of pricey arms to choose from, along with an abundance of fantastic hitting spots. As if we didn't enjoy the Oakland Athletics enough in Texas this week, they now take their wares to Coors Field to take on the Colorado Rockies, while elite offenses like the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and Houston Astros will also enjoy great matchups.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitchers
Chris Sale ($12,800 on FanDuel): There's no question Chris Sale has been otherworldly this season, and on most nights we would happily roster him without a second thought. Since Sale started exhibiting improved velocity in early May, he's sporting a ridiculous 1.77 FIP, 40.7% strikeout rate, and 5.9% walk rate over his last 14 starts. There's little reason to think he won't mow down the Minnesota Twins, who have struggled versus lefties all season (84 wRC+) and have a paltry 3.05 implied team total. The trouble is his back-breaking salary, which will severely limit your options on a slate littered with alluring bats. For that reason, he's not necessarily a must in cash games, but there should be enough hitting value to make it work if you want to go this route. You can also opt for Max Scherzer ($11,500) at a slightly more palatable salary, as he gets an appealing matchup against the Miami Marlins.
