We once again have a main slate beginning a little earlier than usual to accommodate the early evening games, so lock is set for 6:35pm ET tonight. As far as 10-game slates go, this one's a bit thin on pitching, but at least that means we get a fair bit of offense to choose from. Note that there's rain expected in Minnesota, so be sure to keep tabs on the forecast through our lineups page and player news updates.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitchers
Carlos Carrasco ($9,600 on FanDuel): If you look at most of Carrasco's peripherals, you would think he was off to a fantastic start to the season. After all, who would complain about a 3.42 SIERA, 30.9% strikeout rate, and 5.5% walk rate, all pretty much in line with what he's done the last few seasons. Instead, over three starts he's been walloped for 14 runs and 22 hits over 10 innings, leading to an egregious 12.60 ERA and 2.50 WHIP. And while a .613 BABIP and 55.1% strand rate point to some poor luck, it can't all be blamed on that, as Carrasco is also allowing a massive 61.8% hard-hit rate and 50.0% fly-ball rate. However, on a slate lacking many strong alternatives, Carrasco remains one of the night's top options, and we shouldn't let recency bias sway us. A matchup with Seattle Mariners won't necessarily boost our confidence, but they're only showing a 3.58 implied total this evening.
