From a tiny five-game slate on Thursday up to a full 15 tonight, we have a jam-packed board on Friday featuring several big names taking the mound. Offense may be slightly less plentiful for this large a slate, but the Twins, Mariners, Phillies, Braves, and Blue Jays are among those in the best spots. Unfortunately, we also have some rain on the East Coast, so keep tabs on the forecast for games in Philadelphia, Boston, and New York.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. High-Priced Pitchers
Max Scherzer ($12,300 on FanDuel): Pretty much whenever Max Scherzer is on the mound, you just go ahead and roster him. He's dealing with a minor rib issue, and the results haven't been up to his usual standards, but it's hard to feel all that concerned when he's sporting a ridiculous 2.75 SIERA, 32.6% strikeout rate, and 3.7% walk rate over five starts. His modest 4.45 ERA merely looks like the outcome of some sorry early-season luck in a .395 BABIP and 63.5% strand rate, marks that should right themselves over the long haul. The San Diego Padres have posted a 26.5% strikeout rate against righties this season and display a 3.05 implied total tonight.
