It says something when you have Coors Field on the slate, and it's arguably not even the most exciting hitting spot of the night. Friday's 14-gamer is loaded with offense, with 12 teams exceeding a 4.50 implied total, including six above 5.20 runs. Luckily, a slate this large still leaves us with some pitching, too, including some places to pay down if you want to soak up all that hitting.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitchers
Justin Verlander ($11,300 on FanDuel): If you're spending up at pitcher, you could say there's a "big three" of sorts at the top between Justin Verlander, Tyler Glasnow ($10,700), and Luis Castillo ($10,500), all of whom are racking up the punchouts this year and are worth considering in tournaments. But Verlander gets a slight edge for both his well-established track record and his solid matchup against the Rangers. Although the Rangers' lineup packs some punch, their active roster has posted the fifth-highest strikeout rate (23.5%) against righties since the start of last season. Furthermore, with the potent Astros offense behind him, Verlander and friends are massive favorites to win tonight, and Texas carries a meager 3.29 implied total.
