The Los Angeles Dodgers came through with 12 runs and 6 dingers at Coors on Thursday, and they check in with an enormous 7.17 implied total this evening. They should once again be popular, but the presence of 14 games should spread ownership a bit more than last night's four-game affair. Quite a few other offenses are looking pretty solid tonight, though, with 12 other teams exceeding a 4.60 implied total, including six above 5.20.
Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.
Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.
Now, let's get to the stacks. As usual, we will not include today's game at Coors Field in these recommendations. You already know that you want bats at Coors when you can afford them, and you don't need us to tell you. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.
Milwaukee Brewers
After the Dodgers, the Milwaukee Brewers check in with the next highest implied total (6.02) at home against Chris Archer.
Archer may have a 24.0% strikeout rate, but that's about where the positives end. His 4.82 SIERA is easily the worst of his career, and his walk rate has ballooned to 11.7%, but the long ball is easily his biggest issue, allowing an egregious 2.33 dingers per nine innings. Given his 23.7% homer-to-fly-ball rate is well over his career average (13.0%), some of this could be due to bad luck, but when you're allowing a 44.4% hard-hit rate and 40.0% fly-ball rate, some balls are bound to land in the seats.
Throw in a power-friendly Miller Park, and a Brewers lineup with plenty of pop, and it's easy to see why this total is so high. Christian Yelich ($3,500), Mike Moustakas ($3,800), and Yasmani Grandal ($3,500) should be high on the wish list, along with value plays like Eric Thames ($2,500), Ryan Braun ($2,800), and the recently called up Keston Hiura ($2,300).
