We have games spread throughout the day on this Fourth of July, and while we'll be concentrating on this evening's main slate as usual, FanDuel is also offering afternoon slates at 1:15pm ET and 4:05pm ET.
Tonight's four-game main slate shouldn't be short on offense, highlighted by high temperatures expected in both Atlanta and Arlington. Of course, the flip side of that is our pitching options will be much more limited.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered!
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitcher
Hyun-jin Ryu ($10,800 on FanDuel): Hyun-jin Ryu has been absolutely brilliant over the season's first half, and it's already been announced that he'll start for the National League in the All-Star Game. However, he isn't a guy we often look to on FanDuel, as his 23.9% strikeout rate is more of a middle-of-the-road mark that tends to limit his appeal. But that could be a different story tonight against the Padres, whose active roster owns a 24.4% strikeout rate against southpaws. San Diego does have some scary power in the split (.225 ISO), but we're expecting mild temperatures at Dodger Stadium, and Ryu's solid 49.5% ground-ball rate has helped him limit home runs. He also rarely issues free passes, with just seven walks all season (1.8% rate). On a slate sorely lacking in quality pitching, Ryu is easily the safest choice.
