Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitchers
Aaron Nola ($10,800 on FanDuel): Mike Clevinger ($10,600) and Chris Sale ($9,600) own the highest strikeout rates of the slate, but their respective matchups against the Twins and Angels put a damper on their prospects tonight. Despite the risks, their ceilings keep them in play for tournaments -- particularly at what should be lower ownership -- but if you're looking for the path of least resistance, then Aaron Nola gets the far easier draw against the Giants. Not only will Nola benefit from pitcher-friendly Oracle Park, but San Francisco's active roster has just the 25th-ranked wRC+ against righties (89), along with a middle-of-the-road 22.9% strikeout rate. The end result is a meager 3.69 implied total for the home team, and while Nola can't compete with the likes of Clevinger and Sale in strikeout rate, he's still managed a solid 26.9% rate that's more than capable of capitalizing in spots like this.
