On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitchers
Walker Buehler ($11,600 on FanDuel): Even on such a stacked pitching slate, Justin Verlander ($12,300) still comfortably bests the field in both SIERA (3.01) and strikeout rate (35.0%), and he's been on an absolute tear, going seven straight games with double-digit strikeouts. He could easily slot in here, but between his restrictive price tag and mediocre matchup against the Rays, Walker Buehler gets the slight nod due to his fantastic spot against the Padres. Not only does San Diego's active roster rank just 27th in wRC+ versus righties (82), but their strikeout rate is tied with the lowly Tigers for the worst in the split (26.5%). While Buehler may not quite match Verlander's marks, no one is complaining about a 3.43 SIERA, 29.2% strikeout rate, and 4.4% walk rate, and he's shown a sky-high ceiling in soft matchups. Buehler boasts four games above 60 FanDuel points this year, including two where he reached 79 points -- one of which came against this same Padres team earlier this month.
