Building daily fantasy baseball lineups can be intimidating. On any given slate, you have a massive number of options in front of you and a ton of factors to consider.
We're here to help take some of that burden off and break down some hitters who you can slot into your lineup for nice and cheap, while still being well-positioned to provide your lineup with solid fantasy production.
Let's take a look at where we can find value on today's slate.
Evan Gattis, C, Houston Astros
FanDuel Price: $2,400
Evan Gattis is still incredibly cheap as he works his way back from injury, and he's a great play while his price tag is this low.
He's up against the left-handed Derek Holland tonight, who has allowed a career .336 wOBA to righties, and will be playing at the hitter-friendly Globe Life Park.
Gattis has strong numbers against lefties through his career, with a .329 wOBA and .216 ISO with a 38.6 percent hard hit rate. There's a chance he's not in the lineup tonight as he's eased back into the lineup, but if he's playing, then he offers huge value.
Kendrys Morales, 1B, Kansas City Royals
FanDuel Price: $3,100
It's unfortunate that Kendrys Morales and teammate Eric Hosmer are both listed as first basemen on FanDuel because both make solid plays today. However, the numbers say that -- if you can only play one -- Morales is the play today.
Morales has done strong work against right-handed pitching through his career and has a .351 wOBA with a .207 ISO. That's a really encouraging sign for tonight's matchup with Tigers righty Shane Greene, who has allowed a huge .381 wOBA to left-handed hitters through his short career, with only a 13.6 percent strikeout rate.
Corey Dickerson, OF, Tampa Bay rays
FanDuel Price: $3,100
The Rays are in a great spot tonight, with the third-highest implied total on the slate as they take on Joe Kelly and the Red Sox.
Kelly has a career 4.25 SIERA and a 16.7 percent strikeout rate and has allowed a .330 wOBA to left-handed hitters, as well as a 4.38 xFIP.
Corey Dickerson has some pretty extreme platoon splits, and it's easy to like him in most matchups against right-handed pitchers. He has hit for a .399 wOBA and .269 ISO in 759 career plate appearances against righties. He has already gone yard three times against righties this season, and he's well positioned to give Joe Kelly a really hard time tonight.
Michael Saunders, OF, Toronto Blue Jays
FanDuel Price: $2,900
Michael Saunders has been moved up to the leadoff spot for the Blue Jays, but his price tag is still incredibly low, meaning he offers huge value tonight.
Saunders sports only a .309 career wOBA against righties but with a .157 ISO and 39.8 percent fly ball rate. Camden Yards is one of the most lefty-friendly parks in the Majors, and he'll have big upside against Mike Wright, who has been awful against left-handed hitters through his short career, allowing a .399 wOBA with a 10.7 percent strikeout rate and 5.7 xFIP.
The Blue Jays have the highest implied total on the slate, and getting their well-positioned leadoff hitter for only $2,900 is an absolute steal.
