Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.
Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.
Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.
Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.
Now, let's get to the stacks. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.
Milwaukee Brewers
Velocity isn't everything, but we can't say it doesn't matter. When Jered Weaver's average fastball velocity is 10 miles per hour slower than Noah Syndergaard's slider, something's probably extremely wrong. And Weaver's peripherals through his first four starts back that up.
Weaver has a 5.74 SIERA, nearly a full run higher than his mark last year, as his strikeout rate has fallen all the way to 11.0%. He also can't keep the ball on the ground with a 26.3% ground-ball rate, a frightening proposition as he heads to Miller Park and its drool-inducing park factor and home run park factor. That's something the Milwaukee Brewers have been willing to exploit with regularity of late.

At some point, you figure that Domingo Santana's price is going to have to go up. He has been murdering baseballs with a 40.4% hard-hit rate this year, and his soft-hit rate is only 10.5%. He's going to whiff with a 29.2% strikeout rate, but he's also hitting leadoff in a tremendous park. With a low-strikeout hurler like Weaver on the bump, now is the time to snag him before that price starts to go up.
