Stacking can be a controversial topic in many daily fantasy sports, but you can count baseball as a glaring exception. Here, it's universal.
Using multiple players on the same team on a given day presents you with the opportunity to double dip. If one of your players hits an RBI double, there's a good chance he drove in another one of your guys. When you get the points for both the run and the RBI, you'll be climbing the leaderboards fast.
Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.
Premium members can use our new stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.
Now, let's get to the stacks. Here are the teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.
Boston Red Sox
For the longest time, we couldn't even peep these Boston Red Sox batters because they were so freaking expensive. Now, after a six-game road trip that included four losses, these pups have come back down to Earth in time for a great matchup in baseball's second-best park for offense. The pricing deities be smiling on all of you.
Jhoulys Chacin's month of June was firmly sub-Gucci as he walked 10 more batters than he struck out. He had only one game in that span in which he logged more strikeouts than walks, and that was a game where he had a grand total of two strikeouts. That leads to a whopping 7.03 SIERA and a whole lotta sadness, putting these now-affordable Red Sox right in our crosshairs.
There are two dudes on this lineup who are unfathomably cheap on FanDuel and borderline must-roster bats. The first is Mookie Betts, who is -- somehow -- below $4,000 for only the second time since May 6th, even though his hard-hit rate over the past three weeks is still a tasty 33.8%. The second is Travis Shaw, whose 38.0% hard-hit rate against righties you can snag for a paltry $2,800. His nickname isn't, "The Mayor of Ding Dong City" for nothin', y'all.
The only way to make @travis_shaw21’s night more impressive is a #Statcast of his 2nd-inning moonshot! #RedSoxhttps://t.co/ysUYuEaZ0t

They're not close to each other in the order, but I'd still be building my stack around these two saucy individuals.
