San Francisco Giants infielder Wilmer Flores is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against right-hander Brady Singer and the Kansas City Royals.
The Giants appear to be giving Flores a maintenance day after he went hitless for a fifth straight game on Sunday. Thairo Estrada is covering third base and batting sixth while Donnie Walton replaces Flores in the lineup to play second base and bat eighth. Evan Longoria (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for a third straight game.
numberFire’s models project Estrada for 8.9 FanDuel points on Monday, and he has a $2,900 salary. Per our MLB Heat Map, the over/under in the Giants-Royals game (7.5) is tied for the lowest total on the 10-game slate.
