Chicago Cubs first baseman Frank Schwindel is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday afternoon against right-hander Bryse Wilson and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Schwindel went 1-for-2 with a walk on Monday, but he is out of the lineup for the second game of this short series. Willson Contreras will take over at designated hitter while Alfonso Rivas makes another start on first base. Yan Gomes will catch for Keegan Thompson and hit seventh.
Contreras has a $9,000 salary on Tuesday's one-game afternoon slate and numberFire’s models project him for the second-most FanDuel points in the game at 14.6. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Cubs’ implied total (4.75) is seventh-highest in the majors on Tuesday.
